How to Use TrapCap

1. Choose any clean plastic bottle

Rinse out a standard soft-drink or water bottle (28mm neck).

Fill it with 100–200 mL of water.

2. Add the bait

Pour in one TrapCap bait sachet and swirl gently to mix.

No boiling water or special preparation needed.

3. Screw on the TrapCap

Attach the cap firmly to the bottle.

Make sure it’s snug so insects can’t escape around the seal.

4. Hang it outdoors

Use string or wire to hang the trap 1.5–2 metres high, in light shade, and away from busy bee areas.

Good spots: fence lines, trees, sheds, orchard edges.

5. Check and refresh

Empty the bottle every 1–2 weeks or when full.

Refill with fresh water and bait, then reuse the same bottle or swap for a new one.

Q: Does TrapCap fit any bottle?

A: Yes! TrapCap is designed to fit all standard 28mm soft-drink and water bottles. Just rinse a bottle, add bait, and screw it on.

Q: Can I leave it outside all year?

A: Absolutely. TrapCap is weather-resistant and reusable, but we recommend checking it every few weeks to refresh bait and empty the bottle.

Q: Is it safe for bees?

A: Yes. Our funnel design and bait formula are targeted toward wasps and hornets. Bees are far less attracted, but we still suggest hanging the trap away from active hives.

Q: How long does the bait last?

A: One sachet lasts about 1–2 weeks depending on weather. Hotter temperatures may evaporate the liquid faster, so topping up with water helps maintain effectiveness.

Q: Where should I hang it?

A: Hang your TrapCap 1.5–2 metres above the ground, in partial shade, and 10–20 metres away from areas where bees are actively foraging.
